NORWICH — The Norwich Purple Tornado girls’ varsity tennis team hosted Chenango Valley to kick off homecoming weekend on Friday evening. Norwich came out on top in a tough match 4-3.

Rori Gates, in the second singles, was able to win a three-set match as the deciding win.

Finley Farrow and Elle Waters also went three sets, but fell in tough matches.

Norwich swept all three doubles with Alice Boland and Paulina He picking up the 6-2, 6-0 victory.

Autumn Greco and Skylr Newman won 6-0, 6-3 while Sam Palmer and Marianna Chetronie defeated their opponent 6-0 and 6-1.

Norwich (3-1) hosts Windsor on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
