BAINBRIDGE – On Saturday, September 5, Bainbridge Days took place across the village. Neighbors, friends, and visitors took to the streets to see all that the village had to offer.

A variety of vendors set up and sales took place across the village. This included an assortment of handmade goods, antiques, and more. While Bainbridge regularly hosts Saturday markets in the park, on Bainbridge Days this was far expanded throughout the village, with several residents also participating with yard sales.

The unofficial star of the day was Mayo-neighs the unicorn who was in the Pet and Pedals Parade then stayed around adding a touch of childhood wonder to the day. Mayo-neighs strutted around the village with handler Jen, stopping for photo ops and greetings. The white unicorn stuck out from the crowd and was friendly to boot.

Payne's Cranes flew a large American flag that appeared to be almost two stories high. Throughout the day the flag, held up by two cranes, blew in the wind in an impressive patriotic display. It soared high above the trees in the municipal parking lot as the wind picked up.

At the Health Fair in the park, Bainbridge EMS and Fire showed off gear and equipment while also providing helpful tips to those who stopped and asked. They were providing medical information stickers that people could fill out and stick to their fridges. In the case of an emergency, first responders would be able to find pertinent information.

The Bainbridge Library held a book sale. Local organizations including the Rotary Club offered activities for kids close by.

The Jericho, a historically preserved building, held open house tours throughout the day offering an opportunity for interested parties to see recent renovations.

Earlier in the day the Chamber of Commerce held a dessert auction with proceeds to be used for improving the municipal lot. They also held a golf ball drop where three participants won $100.

As people explored the village a sense of community was tangible. Friendly faces were found at every corner, children met up with friends and walked the town in the last weekend before back to school, and visitors shopped the assortment of antiques.
