EARLVILLE - Earlville Opera House (EOH) is pleased to host the opening of its Annual Quilt Show on Saturday, July 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. on the first floor of its Victorian-era building in the East and West Galleries. Featured in the Arts Café is solo exhibitor Lynn Brockway, the 2025 Quilt Show People’s Choice winner.

This highly anticipated show features the rich heritage of New York State’s quilting culture and will be on display through September 12. Quilts can be viewed Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, noon to 2:30 p.m. Visitors can vote for their favorite People’s Choice winner, who will have their own solo exhibit next year. Gallery visits are always free and open to the public.

While on site, browse the unique Artisan Gift Shop; pop into the 1892 historic theater, which is home to a stellar performing season; enjoy the newly expanded Courtyard; and see the display of Butternut Valley Alliance’s annual “On the Trail of Art” student artwork, funded by a grant from EOH’s Statewide Community Regrant Program. This curated satellite youth exhibit is in its sixth year and covers several school districts, grades K-12, and is about connections between student artists and professionals, arts and the natural environment, and communities with each other. Come view this exceptional artwork and be amazed at this young and emerging talent.

In addition, visitors can buy tickets to EOH’s Family Fun in the Sun Raffle Basket worth more than $850. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. The drawing is on Aug. 15, and the winner does not need to be present. Included in this raffle are: a YETI Tundra Haul Portable Wheeled Cooler; two tickets to EOH’s Courtyard SAMMYS Celebration on Aug. 29; four general admission tickets to the Great New York State Fair; Djuce Studio Unbreakable Wine Glasses, four-pack; eight outdoor family games and activities; a $50 gift certificate to Stella's Meat and Deli; two Hershey's S'Mores Kits; and an assortment of family picnic items. Tickets can be purchased online at www.earlvilleoperahouse.com.

Check out all EOH upcoming events, including the Summer Courtyard Music Series; arts classes; Sherburne Music-Theater Society’s upcoming production of “A Comedy of Errors”; Earlville Fire Department’s Community Days on Aug. 1, with a free youth theatre production at 1:30 p.m. in the new Courtyard; Youth Musical Theatre Camps; Songwriting Workshops; and more at www.earlvilleoperahouse.com.

Don’t miss this year’s Quilt Show that is bound to draw you in with its vibrancy. EOH annually presents 12 to 15 solo exhibitions of regional and national contemporary visual artists in all media. Curators may also propose group exhibitions. To submit a proposal for an exhibition, follow the guidelines on the website and observe the Oct. 1 deadline.
