NORWICH - New York State Police at Norwich are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual pictured in connection with an assault that occurred on Tuesday, June 30.

On June 30, 2026, at approximately 11:35 a.m., Troopers were dispatched by the Chenango County 911 Center to the Dollar General on State Route 12 in the town of Norwich for a report of an assault. 

The investigation determined that the pictured male approached another male as he was exiting the store, yelled at him, and punched him in the face, causing the victim to fall to the ground and possibly strike his head. 

The victim sustained a laceration above his eyebrow and was treated at the scene by members of Norwich Ambulance.  He declined transportation to a hospital. 

Prior to the assault, the victim appeared irritated and made remarks to a woman who was checking out ahead of him. 

It’s believed the male involved in the assault was accompanying the woman, who may have been working for Door Dash.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a muscular build and short light brown hair.   

The pair are believed to have left the area in a blue SUV.
