ENDICOTT — The Norwich Post 189 Legion ball team traveled to take on Endicott Post 82 in a doubleheader on Wednesday night. Norwich swept the doubleheader with a 16-13 victory in game one and a 14-5 win in game two. Post 189 plays Endicott again, this time in Norwich on Friday at 6 p.m.
Game 1:
Norwich 16-Endicott 13
Zack Parker led the team with going four for five as a part of the team’s 18 hits in total. Parker also had two RBIs. Michael Brunick went three for five, including a double and a triple, with three RBIs as Collin Reid also had three hits and a team-high four runs batted in. Bo Brown, Brooks Boland, and Noah Eddy (triple) had two hits each in the win. Kassen Stubb earned the win on the mound, going four and two thirds, allowing seven runs (five earned) on one hit, eight walks, and two strikeouts. Reid, Zack Parker, Kolbey Redenback, and Brooks Boland all pitched in relief.
Game 2:
Norwich 14 - Endicott 5
Zack Parker came up clutch again in game two as he went three for four and even tripled in the third inning. Parker drove in two runs as Kassen Stubb drove in a team-high of three runs and Bo Brown also drove in two runs. Stubb also had three hits while Brown had two hits in the total of 11 hits altogether. Noah Eddy earned the win on the mound, going four and a third, allowing five earned runs on three hits, five walks, and four strikeouts. Bo Brown pitched two and two thirds in relief, allowing just one hit, two walks, and three strikeouts.
