Norwich PONY Falls To Cooperstown 12-1

COOPERSTOWN—The Norwich Purple Tornado PONY league team traveled to take on a red hot Cooperstown team at Doubleday Field on Wednesday. Norwich fell 12-1.

Norwich scored its lone run in the top of the first inning as Mason Brunick scored on a steal of home after he reached on a fielder's choice.

Norwich scored just one run on two hits from Jadiel Jorge in the first and Joey Portelli in the top of the sixth.

Portelli and Mason Skundrich also both reached base on two walks each. Rocky Burke, Alex Beiu, Channing Foulds, and Cooper Vischi each walked once in the loss.

Channing Foulds started and worked four innings on the mound, allowing four runs (two earned) on three hits, three walks, and struck out three batters.

Jadiel Jorge pitched an inning of relief, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit, one walk, and struck out one batter.

Joey Portelli closed out the game, allowing six earned runs on three hits, five walks, and one strikeout.

Norwich (0-3) hosts Oneonta on Friday at 6 p.m.
