DELHI— After coming off a hard loss to Cooperstown, the Bainbridge Bolts were right back in action on Wednesday against Delhi. Bainbridge picked up its first win of the summer with a 13-12 close victory against the Post 190 16U team.
Both teams battled throughout the game with Bainbridge scoring at least one run in each inning but the last to secure the victory, including holding Delhi to just two runs in the bottom of the sixth to end it.
Delhi took a 3-2 lead after one and put up five runs in the third but the Bolts played consistently to keep the game going.
Bainbridge scored 13 runs on seven hits, showcasing a great offensive night, despite seven errors in the field, which kept Delhi in line with them until the end.
Braison Ives led the Bolts with two hits and a team-high five stolen bases, including a double. Micah Casey came away with a RBI triple with Cole Keuhn, Brayden Wehrli, Mason Sherwood each drove in runs on singles.
Ives and Keuhn split the game on the mound, going three innings each. Ives allowed eight runs (three earned) on three hits, four walks, and struck out five batters.
Keuhn allowed four runs (two earned) on one hit, three walks, and five strikeouts.
Bainbridge (1-3) heads to Unatego this evening at 6 p.m.
