NEW BERLIN - Individuals and families looking for a fun and creative way to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day holiday are invited to attend a special patriotic art program on Wednesday, June 29, at 5 p.m.
During the event, participants will create festive Fourth of July door hangers featuring red, white, and blue stars displayed on twine and accented with patriotic beads. The colorful decorations are designed to add a touch of holiday spirit to homes while providing an enjoyable hands-on activity for children and adults alike.
The program is open to people of all ages and offers an opportunity for participants to spend quality time together while expressing their creativity. All materials needed to complete the craft project will be provided.
Because supplies are limited, advance registration is required. Organizers ask interested people to register before the event to ensure that enough materials are available for everyone who plans to attend.
In addition to the craft activity, guests will enjoy patriotic-themed cupcakes and refreshments. The treats will provide a festive complement to the evening’s activities and help participants celebrate the spirit of the Fourth of July.
The program promises an evening of creativity, family fun, and community fellowship as attendees prepare for the nation’s birthday. Families are encouraged to sign up early and join in the celebration.
The Summer Reading Program officially begins on July 1 and runs through August 31. It will offer participants opportunities to track their reading, attend special programs, and earn prizes. Activities throughout the summer will focus on exploration, discovery, and the excitement of uncovering new adventures through books.
The New Berlin Library is holding a summer coloring contest for children 12 and younger. Participants can pick up the official “Unearth a Story” coloring sheet from the library’s circulation desk. The design features the library surrounded by dinosaurs, perfect for children to bring to life with crayons, markers, paint, or colored pencils. The coloring contest will run June 1st through June 26th and winner will be announced on June 29th.
During the Village of New Berlin Garage Sale Day on Saturday, June 20, the library will host a free used book giveaway. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the library’s front porch and lawn to browse carts filled with free books for all ages.
The library will be closed on July 3 and July 4 for the Independence Day holiday.
Some great new additions to the library include: Chole Point: A Thriller by Brad Thor, We are Definitely Human by X. Fang, Broken by X. Fang, and Don’t Trust Fish by Neil Sharpson.
