Norwich Post 189 Defeats Binghamton Post 1645 13-8

BINGHAMTON— The Norwich Post 189 American Legion baseball team is back for the 2026 summer season. The team kicked off its season on Friday, June 12 and on Thursday, they snapped a four-game skid.

Norwich defeated Binghamton Post 1645 on the road 13-8 to collect the first win of the season.

Despite being outhit 8-7, Norwich shined as the team put up nine runs in the top of the fourth to seal the victory overall with both teams going back-and-forth. Binghamton tried to catch up in the later innings, but could not.

Norwich’s Joey Parker led the team with one triple that drove in three runs and had a sac-fly to finish with a team-high four RBIs. Zac Turner led the team in hits with two and drove in three runs. Carmine Pastore drove in two runs as Collin Reid, Kolbey Redenback, Michael Brunick, and Kassen Stubb all drove in one run each. Zack Parker hit a double in the win.

Joey Parker got the start on the mound as he went four innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on six hits, five walks, and struck out two batters.

Collin Reid worked an inning and two-thirds in relief, allowing one unearned run on one hit, three walks, and three strikeouts. Noah Eddy closed out the game, going an inning and a third following Reid, allowing one earned run on one hit, four walks, and struck out three batters.

Norwich (1-4) heads to play South Otselic Post 973 tonight at 6 p.m.
