DEPOSIT–– The Bainbridge Bolts traveled to take on the Deposit Lumberjacks 16U team on Monday night, where they fell 11-1.

The Bolts had some strong moments on offense, with six hits, led by Anthony Cafasso's two hits, including two doubles, and singles from Nathan Gates, Levi Nightengale, Mason Sherwood, and Davis Barnard.

Bainbridge scored its only run in the late innings when Trenton Smith scored on a fielder's choice off Cullen Benjamin's bat. Gates sparked the rally with a single as a pinch hitter for Nightengale.

However, the Lumberjacks capitalized on its chances and benefited from Bainbridge errors to create a gap, finishing with 11 runs on eight hits.

Micah Casey got the start for the Bolts, going two and two-thirds, allowing nine runs (two earned) on five hits. Brayden Ives pitched a solid two and a third innings in relief, allowing one run and striking out two batters. Cullen Benjamin also pitched in relief, getting the final two outs of the game.

Despite the loss, the Bolts showed promise at the plate with Cafasso's two hits and contributions from several players. They aim to build on those positives in their next game against Cooperstown on Thursday at 6 p.m.
