OXFORD — Husband-and-wife duo The Black Feathers return to 6 On The Square in Oxford at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, with their signature blend of traditional and modern acoustic influences.
Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler first became aware of the magic between them while collaborating on several musical projects, becoming The Black Feathers and life partners in 2012.
The Black Feathers blend Americana, folk and acoustic indie rock sensibilities, with Hughes’ guitar work supporting tight harmonies. They have released four albums and an EP; the latest, “Where We Are,” came out in 2023.
The duo has toured around the U.K. and U.S., performing at the Cambridge (U.K.) Folk Festival, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Club Passim (Boston), Caffe Lena (Saratoga Springs) and The Bluebird Café (Nashville). They also played official showcases at the International, Northeast Regional and Far-West Folk Alliance conferences.
Tickets for the 6OTS concert are $25 in advance or $30 at the door; purchase at 6onthesquare.org or call 607-843-OTS6 (6876) to make a reservation. Doors open one hour before the start of performances. The concert also will be streamed live online for $10; more information at 6onthesquare.org.
