NORWICH — Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport continues to gear up for Airport Day but announced changes to the scheduled event.
Airport Day will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 13, at 6390 State Hwy 12 in Norwich. The event will have plenty to offer, yet due to unforeseen circumstances, aircraft Whiskey 7 had to cancel their appearance. All rides scheduled with Whiskey 7 will be refunded.
The US Air Force “Earn Your Wings” trailer also cancelled due to scheduling conflicts with other events.
“With anything aviation related, we have to understand the safety of both the aircraft, pilots, and crew, as well as our guests, are the most important,” said said Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport Administrator Shane Butler.
“It’s unfortunate Whiskey 7 had to cancel but we will still have a lot of different things for people of all ages to enjoy,” Butler added.
The show and flight schedule are as follows:
9 a.m. - EAA Young Eagles registration will begin with flights occurring throughout the day.
10 a.m. - Warbird Thunder Airshow.
10:30 a.m. - Spirit of Flight Airshow.
Food vendors available throughout the day will include The Donut Hut and Bakery, The Little Outpost, Gramp’s Funnel Cakes and Fried Dough.
The Columbus Public House Chicken Barbecue will be ready at 10:30 a.m.
