NORWICH — The PULSE Coalition (Preventing Use Loss and Stigma through Education) is excited to announce the return of its annual Safe Summer Fun Day, a free community event designed to help families kick off the summer season with fun activities, valuable resources, and important safety information.
The event will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Kurt Beyer Park, located at 95 Cortland Street in Norwich. Families and children of all ages are invited to attend.
Safe Summer Fun Day brings together community agencies and organizations that will provide resources, information, and interactive activities focused on health, wellness, and summer safety. The event offers an opportunity for families to connect with local services while enjoying an afternoon of entertainment and community engagement.
A featured activity of the event will be a free bicycle safety inspection. Children and families are encouraged to bring their bicycles to have them checked for safety and receive information on safe riding practices before the busy summer season begins.
In addition to educational exhibits and activities, children will have the chance to participate in free raffles throughout the event. Complimentary ice cream, generously donated by Gilligan's and Yogurt donated by Chobani, will also be available for attendees.
"Safe Summer Fun Day is a great way for families to learn about resources available in our community while enjoying a fun-filled afternoon together," said Jess Colley of the PULSE Coalition. "We are proud to partner with local agencies and organizations to promote healthy, safe, and active summers for children and families throughout our region."
The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
