MARATHON— The Section IV, Class D track and field championships were held on Wednesday in Marathon. The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats boys and girls both won the championships. For the girls, it was the third year in a row and for the boys, it was their second in three years. Congratulations!

Unadilla Valley, GMU, and Harpursville/Afton were also well-represented at the meet.

Girls’ Track:

Laeni Baldwin finished sixth in the 2000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:16.50 as Macey LaFever came in ninth with a time of 9:31.83.

Laila Williams took third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.70 seconds.

Baldwin, Jalyn Winans, Macey LaFever, and Maddie Ingham competed in the 4x800, where the girls came in sixth place with a time of 11:36.99.

Eighth grader Madisyn Larsen became a sectional champion as she won the 100 meter dash with the fastest time of 12.89 seconds.

Larsen also won the 200 meter dash with a top time of 26.70 seconds as Keelan Ammon came in ninth with a time of 28.03 seconds.

Jalyn Winans and Madalynn Beardslee both ran the 1500, where Winans came in 17th with a time of 6:12.02 with Beardslee behind her in 18th with a time of 6:15.63.

Keelan Ammon took second in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:04.25, behind Groton’s leading 1:03.66.

Jayslin Henderson came in sixth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:19.68.

Maddie Ingham won the 800 meter run to become a sectional champion as she ran the fastest time of 2:28.43. Isabel Suda finished 26th with a time of 3:07.41.

Macey LaFever earned a top 10 finish in the 3000 meter run with a time of 14:13.82.

Brenna George, Madisyn Larsen, Jayslin Henderson, and Keelan Ammon won the girls’ 4x100 meter relay with the fastest time of 53.14 seconds.

Larsen, Ammon, Williams, and Ingham took second in the 4x400 with a time of 4:25.21, behind Odessa-Montour’s leading 4:19.97.

Girls’ Field:

Tori Suda became a sectional champion in the girls’ shot put with a top throw of 31 feet, eight inches. Marissa Mayo took third with a throw of 31 feet, one and 3/4 inches. Abby Fitzgerald finished eighth with a throw of 27 feet, 10 and 3/4 inches.

Mayo won the discus throw with a top throw of 98 feet, 10 inches as Suda took fifth with a throw of 87 feet, three inches.

Laeni Baldwin took second in the triple jump with a jump of 33 feet, 10 inches, behind Elmira Notre Dame’s leading 34-6.50.

Boys’ Track:

Rowan Beasinger took fifth in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:51.19 while Christian Campbell finished 13th with a time of 14:08.23.

Harpo Hardt became a sectional champion in the 110 meter hurdles with the fastest time of 15.15 seconds.

Hardt also won the 400 meter hurdles with the fastest time of 1:01.57 with Jackari Garipoli in fifth with a time of 1:08.13.

Owen Degan, Ethan Beardslee, Jackari Garipoli, and My’Kel George came in fourth in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 9:15.47.

Isaiah Hampton took fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.19 seconds and took second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.43, behind Candor’s leading 21.55 seconds.

Ethan Beardslee took second in the 400 meter run with a time of 53.85, behind Groton’s leading 50.95.

Theo Loya finished 33rd with a time of 1:10.17.

Degan won the 1600 meter run with the fastest time of 4:56.71 to become a Sectional champion while Rowan Beasinger finished 17th with a time of 5:30.02.

Degan also won the 3200 meter run with the fastest time of 10:24.26.

Christian Campbell ran to a 28th place finish in the 800 meter with a time of 2:42.94.

Ben Porter, Keegan Milk, Davis Barnard, and My’Kel George also came in ninth in the 4x100 with a time of 49.38 seconds.

Jackari Garipoli, George, Ethan Beardslee, and Matthew Wombacker finished ninth as well in the 4x400, with a time of 4:16.41.

Boys’ Field:

Ryan Larsen became a sectional champion in the boys’ shot put with a top throw of 42 feet, one and a half inches. Caleb Larsen came in 16th with a throw of 32 feet, four inches.

Ryan came in fourth place in the discus with a throw of 116 feet, two inches with Caleb in ninth with a throw of 100 feet, 10 inches.

Isaiah Hampton won the boys’ long jump with a top jump of 22 feet, 10 and a half inches and cleared six feet to win the high jump.

Ethan Beardslee took fifth with a jump of 18 feet, nine and a quarter inches as Nolan Foster finished 11th with a jump of 17 feet, six and a quarter inches.

Harpo Hardt took second in the boys’ triple jump with a jump of 41 feet, five and 3/4 inches, behind Newfield’s leading 43-2.

Matthew Wombacker finished eighth in the pole vault, clearing nine feet.

GMU:

Girls’ Track:

Alex Irons came in 23rd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 31.09 seconds.

Girls’ Field:

Lily Haupfleisch earned a fourth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 30 feet, five inches.

Alex Irons finished 28th in the long jump with a jump of 11 feet, one inch with Kristin Gee in 31st with a jump of 10 feet, three and 3/4 inches.

Boys’ Track:

Peyton Nelson finished 17th in the 400 meter run with a time of 59.75 seconds and came in 30th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.77 seconds. Damien Miller finished 39th in the 200 with a time of 29.29 seconds.

Caden Champion ran the 800, where he finished 29th with a time of 2:45.82.

Boys’ Field:

Keenan Hoyt competed in the discus, where he came in 35th with a throw of 43 feet.

Peyton Nelson jumped 14 feet and 3/4 inches in the long jump for 27th place.

Girls’ Track:

Amber Tyler came in 12th in the 2000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:59.32.

Appalonia Bushaw took second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.87 seconds, behind Candor’s leading 15.20.

Gabriella Gross and Amber Tyler both ran the 1500, where Gross came in 20th with a time of 6:23.76 with Tyler in 23rd with a time of 6:32.44.

Angelina Quaglia earned a sixth place finish in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:06.56 with Tabitha Charette in 15th with a time of 1:13.77.

Corrine Hine came in 22nd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.85 seconds as Emma Snow finished 32nd with a time of 32.14 seconds.

Girls’ Field:

Jaylee Kehoe threw for 26 feet, 10 inches in the shot put for 13th while teammate Charlotte Quick came in 17th with a throw of 25 feet, four and 3/4 inches.

Quick finished 13th in the discus with a throw of 71 feet, eight inches.

Appalonia Bushaw won the girls’ long jump with a top jump of 18 feet.

Corrine Hine finished 21st in the triple jump with a jump of 23 feet, three and a half inches.

Bushaw took second in the high jump as she cleared five feet, two inches.

Boys’ Track:

Sean Fowler took third in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:27.98 and finished fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:10.23.

Mason Lans finished 19th with a time of 2:30.40 in the same hurdles event.

Jake Barber came in fourth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.82.

Aiden Quick finished 14th in the 400 meter run with a time of 58.80 seconds as Connor Rowe came in 31st in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:20.54.

Marcus Chavis competed in the 400 meter hurdles, where the senior finished 12th with a time of 1:23.86.

Jayden DeLeon came in 13th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.67 seconds while Chavis finished 21st with a time of 25.64 seconds.

Pierce Bushaw, Jayden DeLeon, Nolan Shofkom, and Jake Barber took third in the boys’ 4x100 with a time of 46.81 seconds.

Boys’ Field:

Cooper Warren came in fourth place in the shot put with a throw of 39 feet, two inches with Charles Closs in 16th with a throw of 32 feet, four inches.

Braylon Atkinson took fifth in the discus with a throw of 108 feet, nine inches with Closs in eighth with a throw of 102 feet, 10 inches.

Kaden Kehoe came in ninth in the long jump with a jump of 18 feet, one inch with Jayden DeLeon behind him in 10th with a jump of 17 feet, 11 inches.

Roderick Dalmida earned an eighth place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 36 feet, four and a quarter inches.

Nolan Shofkom and Pierce Bushaw both cleared five feet, 10 inches in the high jump for fifth and sixth place.

UV:

Girls’ Track:

Margaret Kemnah, Madison Dix, Molly Gorrell, and Natalya Schrag became sectional champions in the girls’ 4x800 meter relay with the fastest time of 10:33.10.

Mackenzie Lindholm took third in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.94 seconds as Kathleen Pizzuto finished 11th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:50.29.

Dix took third in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:05.18 with Noelle Fernandez-Naughton behind her in fourth place with a time of 1:06.15.

Sophia Bell came in seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:20.08.

Molly Gorrell and Natalya Schrag both ran the 800, where Gorrell took fifth with a time of 2:40.28 with Schrag behind her in sixth with a time of 2:40.67.

Lindholm came in fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.53 seconds with Avery Golliver in 17th with a time of 30.13 seconds.

Margaret Kemnah earned a sixth place finish in the 3000 meter run with a time of 13:04.49.

Sophia Bell, Avery Golliver, Mackenzie Lindholm, and Molly Sickmond took third in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 54.96 seconds.

Noelle Fernandez-Naughton, Madison Dix, Molly Gorrell, and Natalya Schrag also took third in the 4x400 with a time of 4:31.46.

Girls’ Field:

Margaret Kemnah finished 37th in the shot put with a throw of 17 feet, eight and 3/4 inches.

Mackenzie Lindholm came in seventh place in the long jump with a jump of 14 feet, four inches with Noelle Fernandez-Naughton in 16th place with a jump of 12 feet, 11 and a quarter inches.

Fernandez-Naughton came in fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 32 feet, two and a half inches with Avery Golliver in 10th with a jump of 29 feet, six and a half inches.

Boys’ Track:

Jake Favinger, Caleb Dix, Aidan James, and Ben Kemnah took fifth in the boys’ 4x800 meter relay with a time of 9:23.82.

Kemnah came in 13th in the 400 meter run with a time of 58.59 seconds with Braden Golliver in 20th with a time of 1:00.08.

Jake Favinger took third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:59.03 as Caleb Dix finished 32nd in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:51.97.

Favinger earned a fourth place finish in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:57.83.

Wade Law and Denzel Peter both competed in the 200 meter dash, where Law came in 22nd with a time of 25.78 seconds as Peter finished 44th with a time of 44.10 seconds.

Brodey Cattanach, Dominic Berthel, Braden Golliver, and Ben Kemnah ran to a seventh place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:58.66.

Boys’ Field:

Steven Johnson came in 33rd in the shot put with a throw of 25 feet, four and 3/4 inches while Dan Church finished 35th with a throw of 24 feet, seven and a half inches.

Both boys also threw in the discus, where Johnson threw for 80 feet, 10 inches for 23rd and Church came in 31st with a throw of 54 feet, six inches.

Denzel Peter took third in the long jump with a jump of 18 feet, 11 and a half inches as Jayden Edwards finished 18th with a jump of 16 feet, three and 3/4 inches.

Peter took third in the triple jump as well with a jump of 40 feet, eight and 3/4 inches.

Brodey Cattanach took fifth with a jump of 37 feet, 10 and 3/4 inches.
