VESTAL— The Norwich Purple Tornado track and field teams traveled to Vestal on Wednesday to compete in the 2026 STAC championship. The Norwich boys came in 14th with 15 points as the girls finished 15th with four points.

Girls’ Track:
Mckenzie Hagenbuch came in fourth place in the 2000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:17.30 and finished 14th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:22.05.
Natalie Phillips finished 19th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:22.96 with Laci Zieno in 24th with a time of 8:01.60.
Malea Sutton ran to a 24th finish in the 800 with a time of 2:58.28 as Kali Wright finished 30th with a time of 3:52.23.
Girls’ Field:
Skylar Romberg earned a 10th place finish in the discus with a throw of 81 feet, eight inches with Olivia Palmer behind her in 11th with a throw of 78 feet, seven inches.
Malea Sutton cleared six feet in the pole vault to finish 10th.
Bella Shepard finished 21st in the long jump with a jump of 12 feet, three and a quarter inches with Jordan Slentz in 25th with a jump of 11 feet, seven and 3/4 inches.
Fern Farrow cleared four feet in the high jump to finish 14th as Reagan Decker came in 18th, clearing three feet, nine inches. Farrow jumped 26 feet, 10 inches in the triple jump to finish 17th.
Natalie Phillips finished 16th in the shot put with a throw of 23 feet, 10 and a half inches with Romberg in 20th with a throw of 21 feet, seven inches.
Boys’ Track:
Connor Marshall came in eighth place in the boys’ 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.74 seconds.
Nic Sutton finished 12th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:53.09 with Anthony Roberts in 30th with a time of 5:59.29. Sutton ran to a 15th place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:06.06.
Boys’ Field:
Kassen Stubb earned a fourth place finish in the high jump as he cleared five feet, 10 inches with Connor Marshall in eighth, clearing five feet, six inches.
Stubb achieved a sixth place finish in the long jump with a jump of 19 feet as Zach Monroe finished 21st with a jump of 16 feet, four inches.
Marshall jumped to a ninth place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 37 feet and a quarter inch with Monroe in 16th with a jump of 33 feet, six inches.
Dean Westervelt came in fourth in the discus with a throw of 137 feet, one inch with Kaden Downey in 12th with a throw of 116 feet, eight inches.
Downey took third in the shot put with a throw of 46 feet, nine and a quarter inches.
