OTEGO—The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team traveled to take on Unatego/Franklin in the MAC semifinals game on Tuesday.
B-G fell short 9-7 as U/F scored eight runs in the bottom of the first and held off B-G's late rally.
Unatego/Franklin will take on Deposit-Hancock in the MAC championship game.
After being down 9-1, B-G attempted its late rally with runs in the fifth, sixth, and final at-bats in the seventh, but came up short.
B-G outhit U/F 10-7 in the contest with Jaxson McGraw, Anthony Cafasso (double), and Davis Barnard leading the team with two hits each.
Aidan Haynes had a two-run single as Parker Buttice and Troy Cannistra drove in runs on sac-flys.
Connor Davy tripled in the loss.
Davy got the start on the mound for the Bobcats, allowing eight earned runs on three hits, five walks, and a strikeout.
Haynes worked five and a third innings of relief, giving up one earned run on four hits, six walks, and struck out two batters.
B-G will take on Oxford-Greene in the MAC consolation game.
