BAINBRIDGE— The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team honored its Class of 2026 seniors on Monday afternoon against Unatego. Congratulations to Breanna Casey, Kaylin Furgason, Brenna George, Jayslin Henderson, Danica Park, Madisyn Peck, and Morgan Prisco.
B-G, who was once behind 9-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, attempted a late comeback but fell short 9-7. The Bobcats did however outhit the Spartans 10-8.
Jayslin Henderson and Morgan Prisco led the team with two RBIs, in which Henderson’s two-out two run single came in the bottom of the seventh inning. Henderson was in scoring position until the final out.
Alessandra Cafasso had a big crucial play in the bottom of the seventh as well as she nearly had a grand slam on a deep ball to left field with the bases loaded, but the Unatego defender made a great catch. Cafasso did have a sac-fly on the play though. Brenna George, Breanna Casey, Emma Kinter, and Madisyn Peck had hits in the loss.
Jayslin Henderson made a terrific play at second base as she slid and caught a line drive before the ball hit the ground in the top of the fourth inning.
Hope Blackman started on the mound for B-G, where she went three and a third, allowing nine runs (five earned) on six hits, one walk, and struck out three batters.
Kate Baciuska worked two and two thirds in relief, giving up just two hits, a walk, and struck out one batter.
Railey Odell pitched one clean inning with one strikeout.
