GREENE— The Oxford-Greene baseball team hosted Unadilla Valley on Friday in Greene. O-G defeated the Storm in shutout fashion 15-0 and in a five-inning no-hitter.
O-G scored at least two runs or more in the first four innings with a game-high eight runs in the bottom of the fourth. The bases were loaded with a walk and two singles by Trent Drew and Lazarus Ludolph before Jackson Roth hit into a fielder’s choice to drive in a run and was safe himself.
Two runs scored on passed balls before Nic Dodzweit hit a two-run double to right field.
Bases-loaded walks brought in more runs in the bottom of the fourth before a few pop outs ended the inning.
Dodzweit led O-G with two hits and three RBIs as Drew had two hits and an RBI.
Jackson Roth and Blake Barrows both drove in two runs while Cooper Davis, Aiden Carter, and Lazarus Ludolph all drove in one in the win.
Nolan Roper, Reed Osborne, and Nick Crandall (HBP) were the only base runners for UV in the loss.
Adam Beckwith and Uri Tracy worked the combined no-hitter. Beckwith went 3.2, allowing just two walks and struck out five batters. Tracy went an inning and a third in relief, striking out one batter.
Reed Osborne, Paul Ruffles, and Nick Crandall pitched for the Storm, where combined, they allowed 15 runs (14 earned) on seven hits, 13 walks, and four strikeouts.
Oxford-Greene (6-5) heads to Deposit-Hancock on Tuesday, while UV (0-9) takes on the Eagles this afternoon.
