DERUYTER— The Otselic Valley Vikings baseball team traveled to take on the DeRuyter Rockets on Thursday. OV, who had a 3-2 lead after one, fell short 4-3, despite outhitting the Rockets 5-4.
Caleb Loomis led the team with two hits and an RBI as Konyr Clemens also drove in a run on a single.
Hunter Rozewski, Oliver Marshall, and Troy Miller had hits and Miller, Clemens, and Fenner Kershaw reached base on walks in the loss.
Kershaw worked five innings on the mound, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits, no walks, and two strikeouts.
OV (1-6) hosts New York Mills on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
