SHERBURNE—The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves baseball team hosted Mount Markham on Friday.
S-E snapped its four-game win streak with a 8-4 deficit.
After the Mustangs took a 2-0 lead, S-E took the lead with a three-run bottom of the fourth inning.
Mt. Markham added two runs in the top of the fifth and S-E scored one in the bottom half of the inning.
The game was tied at four going into the seventh inning. Mt. Markham scored four runs in the top of the inning and held S-E to secure the victory.
Parker McCracken and Chad Nower both led the team with two hits and an RBI as Ty Reihl also drove in a run.
Jay Tackabury also had a hit in the loss.
Allie Whaley started for S-E, going six innings, allowing six earned runs on eight hits, four walks, and four strikeouts.
Degan Knochenmus and Reihl pitched in relief. Reihl allowed two earned runs on two hits and one walk in a third of an inning while Knochenmus went two-thirds of the inning, getting two outs on just five pitches.
S-E (4-5) hosts Frankfort-Schuyler this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
