NORWICH— The Norwich Purple Tornado softball team hosted Johnson City on Friday, where Norwich fell 5-1 to the Wildcats.

After being down 3-0, Norwich scored its lone run on an RBI single by Brooke Rogers.

Rogers led the team with two hits and the RBI while Shaelyn Rice and Kira Quattrocchi also had hits in the loss.

Quattrocchi got the start on the mound, going six innings, allowing five earned runs on seven hits, no walks, and struck out seven batters.

Bri Cirigliano finished the game in relief with a clean seventh inning.

Norwich (5-9-1) hosts Oneonta on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
