WALTON— The Unadilla Valley Storm baseball team fell 13-6 against Walton/Downsville on the road on Tuesday afternoon. The Storm had a strong top of the fifth inning, but could not hold the Crush.
UV scored a team-high four runs in the top of the fifth as Zayne Dibbell drew a lead-off walk before scoring on a double to center field by Austin Mumbulo. Mumbulo scored on a two out error before the inning continued with back-to-back walks. Uriah Drake drove in two runs on a two out double to center before a hit by pitch and the final out.
Drake led the team with two of the Storm’s four hits in the contest and also reached base on a hit by pitch.
Teagin Eccleston started on the mound for UV, going four innings, allowing eight earned runs on nine hits, no walks, and struck out three batters.
Nick Crandall worked two innings in relief, allowing five earned runs on three hits, two walks, and had two strikeouts.
UV (0-7) hosts Deposit-Hancock this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
