OTEGO— The Oxford Blackhawks softball team traveled to take on MAC league opponent Unatego on Monday afternoon. The Blackhawks, who started the 2026 season 5-0, suffered their first loss of the season in a 10-1 deficit.
Oxford scored its lone run in the top of the second inning, already down 4-0, on a line-out RBI by Lily Marshman, where Jenna Denz tagged up and scored.
The Blackhawks had six hits in the contest with two from Abby Stone and Jenna Denz while Emmalee Reiss and Reagan Long had one hit in the loss.
Marshman worked six innings, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on nine hits, two walks and struck out five batters.
Oxford (5-1) hosts Sidney in a resumed game this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. where Sidney is currently up 6-1 in the third inning.
