OTEGO— The Oxford-Greene baseball team took on a tough Unatego/Franklin team on Monday afternoon, where O-G came up just short 4-3.
O-G got on the board first in the top of the first inning as Jackson Roth drew a lead-off walk and scored on Cooper Flanagan’s RBI triple.
Unatego/Franklin tied it up in the bottom of the third before both teams were quiet until the fifth inning.
O-G went ahead 3-1 on two outs as Jackson Roth singled, advanced to second on a walk, and Roth and Flanagan both scored on an error.
However, Unatego/Franklin scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth, which ended up being the game-winner as O-G failed to score after that.
Cooper Davis worked all six innings on the mound for Oxford-Greene, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits, two walks, and nine strikeouts.
O-G (3-4) heads to Delhi on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
