Norwich Softball Earns Second Consecutive Win; Defeats Harpursville

HARPURSVILLE— Coming off their first win of the 2025-26 season on Monday against Chenango Valley, the Norwich Purple Tornado softball team was back in action against non-league opponent Harpursville.

Norwich earned its second straight win with 15-3 victory.

The Purple Tornado got their bats going early and played solid defense.

Norwich scored four runs in the first inning, six in the second, two in the fourth, one in the sixth, and two runs in their final at-bats.

The Purple Tornado scored 15 runs on 17 hits.

Loralee Brown went 3-for-4 at the plate, walked, and stole three bases.

Ava Cirigliano also went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Ava hit a home run and also doubled.

Bri Cirigliano had two hits, including a triple, two stolen bases, and four RBIs.

Kerragan Reid also had two hits and drove in four runs as well.

Carolyn Wright went 3-for-4, including a double and drove in a run.

Shaelyn Rice drove in two runs as Kira Quattrocchi had a hit and an RBI.

Brooke Rogers had a hit, along with Abby Telesky, who doubled and had an RBI.

Nolah Montgomery also had a hit in the win.

Kira Quattrocchi got the start for Norwich, going three innings, allowing one hit, two runs, a walk, and struck out five batters.

Bri Cirigliano pitched four innings in relief, allowing just one run and struck out nine batters.

Norwich (2-4-1) will be competing in the SFCU tournament in Oneonta on Saturday.
