Afton Softball Picks Up Two Wins Against Franklin

AFTON—After Monday's game was suspended, the Afton Crimson Knights resumed its matchup against Franklin on Wednesday and played two games.

The Crimson Knights won both games and scored 10 runs or better in both as well

Game 1:

Afton 12-Franklin 4

Jenna Wilson struck out a total of 17 batters in the resumed game. Emilie Hopkins, Ariana Florance, and Jenna Wilson had multiple hits.

Misty Bushaw, Rylee Rupakus, Adleigh Noone, Megan Racine, Alyssa Spathelf, and Miranda Schultz also picked up hits in the win.

Game 2:

Afton 10-Franklin 3

Misty Bushaw and Adleigh Noone both led the Crimson Knights as both went three for four at the plate.

Noone also drove in a run as Rylee Rupakus had a two-run triple.

Kadence Racine went two-for-three with two RBIs as well.

Makenna Schultz, McKenna Ross, and Emilie Hopkins scored two runs each and combined for six hits in the win.

Jenna Wilson and Adleigh Noone combined for 10 strikeouts.

Afton improves to 4-1 on the season and heads to Bainbridge-Guilford in a MAC league matchup on this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
