B-G Softball Tops UV

NEW BERLIN—The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats and the Unadilla Valley Storm softball teams faced off on Tuesday in a local MAC matchup.

B-G had strong bats and stellar defense to earn a big 24-2 victory, their first of the 2025-26 season.

The Bobcats scored 24 runs on 17 hits with nine runs in the first, seven in the second, six runs in the third, and two runs in the fourth inning.

Breanna Casey had two hits, two RBIs, and three stolen bases as Brenna George had three hits with an RBI and also stole three bases.

Alessandra Cafasso had a big night with two home runs and a team-high seven RBIs.

Tori Suda drove in two runs as Abbagayle Fitzgerald had three hits and two RBIs and Emma Kinter also had three hits in the win.

UV scored its two runs on a passed ball and a wild pitch.

Railey Odell, Hope Blackman, and Brenna George combined for a five-inning no-hitter with two unearned runs, four walks, and eight strikeouts.

B-G (1-2) hosts Afton on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. for the 2025-26 home opener as UV (0-3) is at Delhi at the same time.
