NORWICH – Earlier this month, Norwich High Senior Ella Foote was awarded a full-tuition scholarship to the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS).
She was accepted to the school with Early Assurance for the Doctor of Pharmacy program and one of only two students to receive the scholarship beginning the Fall 2026 semester.
Ella Foote is quietly exceptional inside and outside of her academic achievements. While attending school she does volunteer work, participates in Dollars for Scholars by working at the library, and works part time at a pharmacy where she became inspired to pursue a career as a pharmacist.
Ella was chosen for the scholarship due to her impressive performance at “Scholarship Day” held by the college where she interacted with faculty from various departments including clinical laboratory & health sciences, forensic psychology, psychology, forensic science, biomedical sciences, and pharmacy & pharmaceutical sciences.
The professors led prospective students through a case study which taught about averting or minimizing the effects of a bioterrorism attack. Participants in the scholarship day were guaranteed a small scholarship and a chance at the full-tuition scholarship. Not only did Ella's performance win her the scholarship but she also found the day to be a really cool experience overall.
