CHENANGO COUNTY— On Thursday, the Section IV boys and girls basketball tournament brackets were released. Good luck to all of our local Chenango County teams.

There is no admission charged for first round games.

Girls:

The Norwich Purple Tornado girls’ basketball team earned the third seed in the Section IV, Class A tournament, where the Purple Tornado will face Chenango Valley, who are the sixth seed, on Friday, February 27 at 6 p.m.

Following Saturday’s MAC championship game, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls’ basketball team earned the third seed in the Section IV, Class C tournament, where the Bobcats will host local opponent 14-seeded Greene, who won their remaining games to clinch, on Tuesday, February 24 at 6 p.m.

The Oxford Blackhawks are the seventh seed in Class C, where the Lady Blackhawks have a rematch against Unatego on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Oxford High School.

Boys:

The Norwich Purple Tornado boys’ basketball team represents Class A, where the Purple Tornado earned the fourth seed and will host fifth seeded Chenango Valley on Friday, February 27 at 7:45 p.m., following the girls game.

The Oxford Blackhawks earned the ninth seed in the Section IV, Class C tournament, where the Blackhawks head to face the eighth seeded Marathon Olympians on Wednesday, February 25 at 6 p.m.
