OTEGO— Following the Oxford-Unatego girls game, the Oxford Blackhawks boys’ basketball team took on the top-seed Unatego-Franklin in the MAC semi-finals. The fourth-seeded Blackhawks fell 78-48.
It’ll be Unatego-Franklin vs Delhi in the 2025-26 boys’ MAC championship game on Saturday at Greene High School.
Oxford will play Walton/Downsville on the road at a to be determined date before sectionals.
Gordon Smith led the Blackhawks with 12 points, where he stayed consistent all game.
Richard Hunter followed with 10 points and went six-for-eight at the free-throw line.
Nic Dodzweit added eight points, all in the third quarter, as Luke Bennett and Dom Howe both had three points.
Bennett Paden, Justin Peck, Noah Chesebro (free-throws), Gavin Dibble, Josh Knapp, and Kayden Renfrow all had two points each in the loss.
