GREENE— The Greene Trojans girls’ basketball team hosted Harpursville in the second round of the MAC playoffs. Greene, who had fell to Oxford in the first round, defeated the Hornets 43-28.

There were times that the game became close as Harpursville was hot in three-point shooting with six three’s to try to tear down Greene’s solid lead, but Greene played more aggressively both offensively and defensively to keep control.

The Trojans held Harpursville to single-digits in three out of the four quarters to secure the victory.

Mia Yahner led Greene with 15 points, where she went six-for-seven at the free-throw line.

Mya Leggett-Carlin added 11 points as Lexi Cloyd opened up the scoring for Greene with a big three and added another three within the first quarter. She finished with 10 points in the win.

Ahraya Whitt had four points in the second half as Hailey Butler finished with three points.
