GREENE— The Greene Trojans and the Unadilla Valley Storm boys’ basketball teams faced off on Wednesday night in a MAC playoff game. Both teams battled after a tough regular season with multiple ties and lead changes. The game was tied at 22 at halftime and then at 40 at the end of regulation.

Greene outscored UV 14-5 in overtime to win 54-45.

Both teams had chances to win in the final seconds of the game with Jacob Eroshevich blocking Braden Golliver to give Greene the ball and then Braden Golliver blocking the Trojans’ Keegan Waltz to give the Storm the ball with 9.6 seconds left. Golliver also scored the tying basket with 1:18 left in regulation.

However, the Storm could not score, sending the game into Overtime.

Greene’s Gavin Ely, an eighth grader, went to the line multiple times in the overtime period and also hit a three, along with teammate Eli Eggleston to help give Greene a big 8-0 run with 1:44 left.

Taylor Hodge hit a crucial three for UV, but it wasn’t enough.
