SOUTH OTSELIC—On Tuesday, the Otselic Valley Vikings girls’ basketball team honored its Class of 2026 seniors in its final game of the 2025-26 against Madison.
Congratulations to Miranda Hackett, Lilly Palmer, Kenzie Reandeau, Skyler Graham, Abby White, and Emma Rooker as well as pep club members Josie Guernsey and Wyatt Eaton, who were honored too.
OV, who had a brief lead throughout the contest until late in the fourth quarter, fell 36-29 to end its season.
The Lady Vikings held Madison to zero points in the first quarter to take a 5-0 lead at the end of the first eight minutes.
OV continued its run in the second quarter, going up 11-0 until Madison made a free-throw with 3:12 left until halftime. OV led 11-9 at the break.
Both teams fought in the second half with the game tied at 21, going into the fourth quarter.
There were several lead changes in the final eight minutes, where Madison was consistent at the free-throw line late in the quarter after OV picked up five team fouls.
Miranda Hackett led the Lady Vikings with eight points, staying consistent and driving to the basket anyway she could with help with steals from her defense.
Lilly Palmer added seven points as Kenzie Reandeau finished with six points, all in the third quarter and made two-of-three foul shots.
Bella Sayles chipped in four points while Skyler Graham and Abby White both finished with two points.
OV finishes the 2025-26 season with a 1-13 record.
