BAINBRIDGE— The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls’ basketball team hosted Sidney in a MAC league matchup on Wednesday. The Lady Bobcats came away with a close 55-51 victory. The Bobcats remain second behind Delhi in the MAC as the Bulldogs are undefeated in league play.
B-G also has an active four-game win streak after falling to Delhi on January 24.
The Bobcats kept the lead throughout the entire matchup, even by small margins, including a 25-22 lead at halftime.
Emma Kinter led B-G with 13 points and went four-for-four at the free-throw line. She also had six rebounds.
Marissa Mayo followed with 12 points and nine rebounds, while going two-for-two at the free-throw line and made two three-pointers.
Sidney’s Isabella Conroy (18 points) and Nayla Miley (17 points) did outscore B-G’s leading scorers, but the Bobcats held the Sabers to secure the victory.
Jayslin Henderson led B-G with 10 rebounds and also added eight points and three steals.
Tori Suda finished with six points, going two-for-two at the free-throw line.
B-G went 12-for-16 at the line in the win.
Peyton Umbra also added six points and had a team-high four assists as Jalyn Winans and Kamry Patten both had five points to an all-team contribution to the victory.
B-G (9-1, 16-1) awaits its next game.
