UV Girls Fall To W/D

NEW BERLIN— The Unadilla Valley Storm girls’ basketball team hosted Walton/Downsville on Monday night in a MAC league contest. The Storm fell 53-27 to Grace Walley and the Crush.

The Storm had a solid start with 10 points from efforts by Shyla Roberts (six) and Kora Johnson (four). However, UV could not score in the second quarter, putting them down 29-10 at halftime.

The Storm got back on offense in the second half, but were held to free-throws in the third quarter by Roberts and Johnson. Late contributions by Allisyn Daniell, Myriah Taylor, and Yana Hyrlina came in the final eight minutes.

UV’s defense could not contain Walton/Downsville’s Grace Walley, who led all scorers with 38 points.

Roberts led the Storm with 12 points as Johnson had seven.

Daniell added four points in the fourth quarter while Taylor and Hyrlina added buckets in the final eight minutes as well.

UV (3-12) hosts Oxford in a non-league game on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
