Norwich Wrestlers Come Up Short Against Forks

CHENANGO FORKS-- The Norwich Purple Tornado wrestling team took on Chenango Forks on the road on Wednesday night. Norwich came up short 44-36 in the dual meet.

Eighth grader Koltyn Collins fell by a 20-2 tech fall at 103 pounds.

Forks earned three straight forfeits following the match.

Norwich's Jadyn Carpenter then pinned Forks' Keaton MacRabie at 3:48 at 132 pounds as Noah Eddy picked up the quick :22 pin against Connor Pearce at 138 pounds.

Bryce Wellington eanred a 1:50 pin over Chase Tuttle at 144 as seventh grader Kole Downey pinned Brody Livermore in 2:32 at 150 pounds.

Kolby Vielandi picked up a win by forfeit while Maverick Beckwith wrestled up at 165 pounds to defeat Brayden Wildey in a 2:45 pin.

Malakai Hagenbuch fell to Forks' Brysen Fry by a 17-2 tech fall at 175.

Collin Howe also fell by tech fall in a final score of 19-2 to Talon Ritter at 190.

Noah Shack (tech fall), Ethan Shapley (pin), and Matthew Allen (extra- fall) lost in their respective weight classes.

Norwich hosts Canastota this evening for senior night at 6 p.m.
