The Fur Ball is SPCA’s largest fundraising event of the year. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to benefit the Chenango SPCA, which costs about $370,000 a year to operate. They receive no government funding.

In 2025, the SPCA experienced their biggest adoption year with over 650 adoptions. This was made possible with support from Safe Haven Fund, covering all adoption fees for Chenango SPCA.

According to the Chenango SPCA website, the SPCA was founded in 1907 and remains a no-kill shelter that provides care for lost and homeless pets. Education is provided to adoptee families to ensure the needs of companion animals are met.

More information on the Chenango SPCA can be found at Chenangospca.org or on the Chenango SPCA Facebook page.
