SHERBURNE— The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves girls’ basketball team hosted Canastota on Thursday night with a three-game winning streak. S-E made it four-games with a 38-29 victory.

It was a defensive battle the entire contest with both teams limited to single-digit scoring through most of the game. S-E had a lead in the fourth quarter, but let it slip away as both teams went into overtime, tied at 28,

S-E outscored Canastota 10-1 in the extra period with Kendall Hill scoring four of her 12 points and Brynn Shaver also with four overtime points.

Eighth grader Abbie Green led the Timberwolves with a double-double, where she had 10 points and 18 rebounds.

Morgan Mikalunas added nine points with 12 rebounds as Brynn Shaver had four points and Natalie Knickerbocker with a three-pointer.

S-E improves to 8-5 on the season and hosts Poland next Thursday at 7 p.m.
