SOUTH OTSELIC-- The Otselic Valley Vikings girls' basketball team was victorious on Thursday evening against Madison. The Lady Vikings had waited patiently for its first win of the season and hard work paid off as OV won 52-33.

OV was off to a strong start before both teams slowed things down in the second quarter.

OV took a 25-13 lead at halftime, where in the second quarter, they held the Blue Devils to two points within those eight minutes of play.

The Lady Vikings kept the momentum going in the second half and never quit to secure the victory.

Abby White led OV with 14 points, including two three-pointers, and added six steals.

Miranda Hackett followed with 12 points, nine steals, eight rebounds, and had three blocks.

Mackenzie Reandeau added nine points and a team-high 15 rebounds on the night.

Emma Rooker also finished with nine points and had four rebounds.

Skyler Graham had six points and six steals while Bella Sayles netted in two points in the win.

OV (1-7) hosts Poland on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
