Norwich Boys' Swim Defeats Greene

NORWICH—The Norwich Purple Tornado boys' swim team hosted Greene on Wednesday evening, where Norwich earned a 63-28 meet win against their local county opponent.

Norwich's Timothy Guezewich, Amon Oliver, Alex Moutarde, and Nate Shtrauch led the 200 medley relay team to victory with a time of 2:00.29.

Greene's Graham Harper, Sherman Ludolph, Andrew Roberts, and Scot Miles took second with a time of 2:46.81.

Norwich swept all three positions in the 200 free with Sebastian Kenyon earning first with a time of 2:28.19 with Shalom Thinagaran in second with a time of 2:46.64.

Benjamin Collins took third in the 200 free with a new best time of 2:58.04.

Amon Oliver earned a new personal best of 2:23.77 for first in the 200 individual medley with Alex Moutarde in second (2:35.94).

Shtrauch won the 50 free for the Purple Tornado with the fastest time of 25.55 seconds.

Sherman Ludolph earned a new personal best 27.01 for second place as Harper had a best 30.25 seconds for third for the Trojans.

Norwich's Sharon Thinagaran achieved a new personal best of 31.65 seconds for fourth place as Alexandru Beiu picked up a new personal best of 32.36 seconds for fifth.

Greene's Scot Miles took sixth in the 50 free with a time of 38.19 seconds.

Alex Moutarde was the lone swimmer in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:15.05.

Graham Harper led the Trojans with a first place finish in the 100 free with a new personal best time of 1:09.33 with teammate Andrew Roberts in fifth (1:22.83) and Scot Miles in sixth (1:26.79).

Norwich's Beiu took second with a new best time of 1:11.92 as Sharon Thinagaran earned a new best of 1:12.99 for third place.

Benjamin Collins finished fourth in the same event with a time of 1:19.47.

Shalom Thinagaran, Collins, Beiu, and Sharon Thinagaran led Norwich in the 200 free relay with a time of 2:07.09.

Greene took second with a team of Ludolph, Miles, Harper, and Roberts with a time of 2:17.59.

Greene's Sherman Ludolph earned a new personal best of 1:25.07 for the top finish in the 100 breaststroke as the only qualified swimmer in the event.

Norwich heads to the Maine-Endwell Blizzard Invitational on January 24 as Greene hosts Chenango Valley on January 20 at 5:30 p.m.
