CORTLAND-- Over the weekend, the Oxford-Greene indoor track team traveled to SUNY Cortland to compete in the 2 p.m. session of the Winter Classic. O-G was the only local Chenango County team to compete at the event.

The Oxford-Greene girls tied for ninth place with Groton with 18 points. The boys took second with 62 points, behind Ithaca, who won the meet with 90.33 points.

Boys:

Track:

The Oxford-Greene boys' distance medley team of Eddie Golden, Dawson Viele, Sherman Ludolph, and Gordon Smith won the event with the fastest time of 12:00.47 . Keegan Waltz, Liam Griffin, Dawson Viele, and Eddie Golden took fourth in the sprint relay with a time of 4:11.39.

Gordon Smith won the 800 meter run with the fastest time of 2:04.71 as Keegan Waltz won the 400 meters with a time of 52.27 seconds.

Sherman Ludolph finished 12th in the 400 meters with a time of 59.43 seconds with Liam Griffin in 17th place (1:01.11) and Eddie Golden in 21st (1:03.68).

Smith also won the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:38.94.

Liam Philippone and Dawson Viele both competed in the 55 meter dash with Philippone in 19th with a time of 7.63 seconds and Viele right behind him in 20th with 7.64 seconds.

Philippone, Viele, and Ludolph also all sprinted the 200 meter dash. Philippone led the trio with a 13th place finish with a time of 26.42 seconds. Viele finished 20th with a time of 27.20 with Ludolph in 21st (27.32 seconds).

Fielding:

Keegan Waltz tied for second place in the high jump, clearing five feet, nine inches.

Waltz took third in the long jump with a jump of 19 feet, three and a quarter inches.

Liam Philippone competed in the triple jump, where he finished eighth with a jump of 36 feet, nine and a half inches.

Isaac Utter came in seventh in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet, two and a half inches and finished fourth in the weight throw with a throw of 43 feet, three and a quarter inches.

Liam Griffin also competed in the weight throw, where he finished sixth with a throw of 32 feet, three and 3/4 inches.

Girls

Track:

Clara Leach led the Oxford-Greene girls with a sixth place finish in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.19 seconds with Tallena Lupinetti in 17th with a time of 8.89 seconds and Amani Amin in 27th (9.56 seconds).

Leach came in 13th place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.84 seconds as Lupinetti finished 22nd with a time of 32.73 seconds and Amin in 27th (34.65 seconds).

Fielding:

Clara Leach took third in the long jump with a jump of 14 feet, five and a quarter inches as Tallena Lupinetti picked up a point in sixth with a jump of 13 feet, two and 3/4 inches. Amin came in 12th place with a jump of 10-8.75.

Leach came in second in the triple jump with a jump of 31 feet, four and 3/4 inches, behind the leader's 32-5.

Lupinetti took fifth with a jump of 26-6.25 with Amin in eighth with a jump of 23-6.25.
