Local Indoor Track Teams Compete At Utica Challenge Invitational

UTICA - Over the weekend, the Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville, Unadilla Valley, and Norwich indoor track teams traveled to Utica University to compete in the Utica Challenge Invitational.

The BGAH girls took fifth with 39 points as UV came in 16th and Norwich tied for 28th place.

The BGAH boys finished third with 44 points as Norwich tied for 10th and the UV boys did not place.

BGAH:

Girls Track:

Brenna George, Appalonia Bushaw, Kathleen Charette, and Madisyn Larsen came in sixth in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:58.15.

Maddie Ingham, Laila Williams, Isabel Suda, and Jenna Wilson earned a seventh place finish in the 4x400 with a time of 4:46.59.

Madi Beardslee, Macey LaFever, Sophia Suda, and Jenna Wilson finished 13th in the girls' 4x800 meter relay with a time of 13:49.06.

Maddie Ingham won the girls' 800 meter run with a time of 2:28.37 with Sophia Suda in 26th with a time of 3:12.80.

Madisyn Larsen took fifth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.81 as Laila Williams finished 16th with a time of 1:09.93.

Appalonia Bushaw finished 18th in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8 seconds exactly with Brenna George in 24th with a time of 8.19 seconds.

Isabel Suda came in 38th place in the 300 meter dash with a time of 52.48 seconds.

Jenna Wilson finished 15th in the 600 meter run with a time of 2:00.09 with Madi Beardslee in 25th with a time of 2:04.48.

Macey LaFever earned a 24th place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:08.82.

Fielding:

Appalonia Bushaw took second in the long jump with a jump of 17 feet, seven and a quarter inches, behind the leader's 17 feet, eight and a half inches. Kathleen Charette earned a top 10 finish with a jump of 14 feet, eight and a quarter inches.

Madisyn Larsen came in 15th place in the triple jump with a jump of 29 feet, 11 and 3/4 inches as Brooklinn Hall finished 22nd (28-3).

Laila Williams finished 11th in the high jump, clearing four feet, four inches as Isabel Suda tied for 14th at four feet, two inches.

Marissa Mayo took third in the shot put event with a throw of 32 feet, four inches as Tori Suda came in seventh with a throw of 30 feet, six inches.

Suda earned a fifth place finish in the weight throw with a throw of 36 feet with Kelsey Brewer in 29th with a throw of 21 feet, one inch.

Boys Track:

Owen Degan led the BGAH boys with a top finish in the 3200 meter run with the fastest time of 9:55.88.

Rowan Beasinger finished 21st in the 3200 meters with a time of 11:31.73.

Harpo Hardt took second in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.08 seconds, behind the leader's 7.93 seconds.

Isaiah Hampton earned an 11th place finish in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.08 seconds, nearly missing a top 10 finish.

Keegan Milk also sprinted the 55 meter dash, where he finished 32nd with a time of 7.54 seconds.

Milk finished 38th in the 300 meter dash with a time of 45.52 seconds.

Marcus Chavis came in 29th place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.70.

Jackari Garipoli finished 17th in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:34.75.

Ethan Beardslee came in 11th place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:00.74 with Conner Rowe in 37th (6:43.03).

Sean Fowler earned a fourth place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:09.67.

Fielding:

Isaiah Hampton won the boys' high jump as he cleared six feet, two inches. Hampton took third in the long jump with a jump of 20 feet, 11 inches with Jackari Garipoli in 22nd with a jump of 17 feet, six inches.

Harpo Hardt finished fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 42 feet, five inches.

Matthew Wombacker earned a 10th place finish in the pole vault at nine feet, six inches.

Ryan Larsen came in 12th place in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet, one inch as Cj Closs finished 32nd with a throw of 33-8.

Larsen finished 23rd in the weight throw with a throw of 35 feet, five and a half inches as Closs had a throw of 24-0.50 for 41st.

Margaret Kemnah, Madison Dix, Molly Gorrell, and Natalya Schrag won the girls' 4x800 meter relay with the fastest time of 10:51.40.

Noelle Fernandez-Naughton, Madison Dix, Molly Gorrell, and Natalya Schrag earned a fourth place finish in the 4x400 with a time of 4:34.57.

Madison Anderson, Meadow Bert, Piper Hine, and Cheyenne McMahon finished 20th in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 2:10.68.

Madison Dix earned one point in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.19 for sixth place.

Cheyenne McMahon finished 29th in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.42 seconds as Meadow Bert finished 43rd of 51 competitors with a time of 8.87 seconds.

McMahon also came in 23rd in the 300 meter dash with a time of 49.21 seconds.

Noelle Fernandez-Naughton earned a seventh place finish in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:31.94 as Margaret Kemnah finished 11th with a time of 3:36.18.

Molly Gorrell picked up a point in eighth place in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:53.41.

Andrea Favinger finished 16th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:44.50 as Sydnee Studer finished 28th with a time of 6:28.46.

Natalya Schrag came in fourth place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:37.79.

Fielding:

Piper Hine came in 22nd in the long jump with a jump of 13 feet, two and a half inches.

Madison Anderson finished 31st in the shot put with a throw of 19 feet, nine inches.

Boys Track:

Ben Kemnah competed in the 400 meter dash, where he finished 23rd with a time of 58.06 with teammate Peyton Nelson in 38th (1:08.19).

Kemnah also sprinted in the 300 meter dash, finishing 31st with a time of 43.04 seconds. Nelson finished 46th of 47th with a time of 51.51 seconds.

Aidan James finished 30th in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:11.82.

James also came in 18th place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:24.23.

Fielding:

Peyton Nelson finished 37th in the long jump with a jump of 14 feet, 10 inches.

Thomas Harrington came in 53rd in the shot put with a throw of 17 feet, five inches.

NHS:

Girls Track:

Ava Cirigliano broke her own school record in the 400 meter dash with a fourth place finish in a new best 1:03.73.

Mckenzie Hagenbuch finished 15th in the same event with a time of 1:09.39.

Olivia Palmer ran to a 40th place finish in the 600 meters with a time of 2:39.08.

Hagenbuch and Natalie Phillips both ran the 800 meters with Hagenbuch finishing 11th with a time of 2:44.34 and Phillips in 20th (3:01.56).

Fielding:

Reagan Decker took ninth in the long jump with a jump of 14 feet, eight and a half inches. She finished 23rd in the triple jump with a jump of 28 feet, two inches.

Decker finished ninth in the high jump, where she cleared four feet, six inches.

Natalie Phillips came in 12th in the pole vault, clearing six feet, six inches.

Phillips earned a 15th place finish in the shot put with a throw of 25 feet, eight inches.

Olivia Palmer finished 23rd in the weight throw with a throw of 23 feet, five and a half inches.

Boys Track:

Nic Sutton led the Norwich Purple Tornado boys with a second place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:09.21, behind the leader's 2:08.67. He also had a third place finish in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:44.41

Connor Marshall finished 11th in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.98 seconds, nearly missing a top 10 finish.

Cameron Carnachan came in 24th place in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.27 seconds. Carnachan also competed in the 300 meter dash, finishing 21st with a time of 40.33 seconds.

Fielding:

Kaden Downey won the boys' weight throw with a top throw of 64 feet, five and 3/4 inches as Liam White finished ninth with a throw of 47 feet exactly.

Connor Marshall came in 16th place in the long jump with a jump of 18 feet, two inches. Marshall cleared five feet, eight inches in the high jump for fourth place.

Kaden Downey earned a 15th place finish in the shot put with a throw of 39 feet, nine inches as Liam White finished 41st with a throw of 30 feet, seven inches.
