NHS Boys' Swim Comes Away With Close Victory Vs Forks

NORWICH -- The Norwich Purple Tornado boys' swim team hosted Chenango Forks on Friday night, where the Purple Tornado earned the close 87-75 victory.

Benjamin Collins, Sharon Thinagaran, Nate Shtrauch, and Sebastian Kenyon won the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:12.09.

Timothy Guezewich, Kenyon, Amon Oliver, and Alex Moutarde earned the victory in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:43.07.

Moutarde, Oliver, Guezewich, and Shtrauch took first in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:59.43 as Beiu, Collins, and Thinagaran were apart of the second relay team that took third (5:13.03).

Amon Oliver won the 200 free with a time of 2:03.52 with Alexandru Beiu in fourth with a new personal best time of 2:35.32 and Sharon Thinagaran with his new best 2:37.70 for fifth place.

Oliver also had a top finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:34.61 with Beiu in third with a new best time of 7:10.77. Sharon Thinagaran finished fourth in the event with a time of 7:45.02.

Senior Timothy Guezewich took the victory in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:35.62.

Guezewich swam the fastest time in the 100 backstroke, coming in at 1:14.69 with Collins in fourth with a new best time of 1:33.97.

Alex Moutarde swam the fastest 24.53 seconds to take the victory in the 50 free with Shtrauch in third with a time of 25.26 seconds as Sharon Thinagaran took fifth (31.95 seconds).

Moutarde also won the 100 free with a new personal best time of 55.35 seconds with Sebastian Kenyon in fifth with a time of 1:06.46 and Benjamin Collins in sixth with a new best time of 1:16.90.

Shtrauch won the 100 butterfly with a season-best time of 1:03.94 as Sharon Thinagaran took second in the 100 breaststroke with a new personal best time of 1:26.57, behind the leader's 1:23.06.

Norwich hosts Sus Valley this evening at 5:30 p.m.
