FABIUS POMPEY— After taking down Morrisville-Eaton in the first round of the tournament, the Otselic Valley Vikings returned to Fabius-Pompey High School on Friday for the tournament championship game. The Vikings won the tournament with a close 54-45 victory over the hosting Falcons.
Both teams were competitive throughout the contest with OV finally able to pull away in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. OV saw some big threes from Caleb Loomis and Owen Davis as Lukas Schieferstein was solid at the free-throw line.
OV senior Lukas Schieferstein was named tournament MVP and finished the game with 29 points, including making 11-of-13 free-throws. Owen Davis was also named to the all-tournament team, where he hit two threes and finished with 12 points in the game.
Caleb Loomis had five points and nine rebounds with a team-high seven steals. Alex Doroshenko added four points while Tristyn Lynch and Tommy Kenyon both finished with two points. Lynch also led the Vikings with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
OV (5-2) hosts DeRuyter this evening at 7 p.m.
