NHS Wrestling At Saratoga Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Norwich Purple Tornado wrestling team traveled to Saratoga Springs on Saturday to compete in the 2025-26 Saratoga Invitational. Norwich placed 14th with 39 points as the hosting school took the overall win. Norwich brought nine wrestlers with three wrestlers placing.

Eighth grader Koltyn Collins took fifth in the 103 weight class with three wins and two losses. All three wins were quick pins by :29 seconds, :38 seconds, and :49 seconds.

Bryce Wellington also finished fifth, going 4-2 at 144 pounds. He had three wins by pin and also won by an 11-1 major decision.

Jadyn Carpenter took sixth place as he went 3-3 in the 132 weight class. He had two win by pins, including a :25 pin against Galway’s Josh Trifiletti, and also won by tech fall.

Noah Eddy went 2-2, but did not place at 138, with a win by 13-0 major decision and a 5:21 pin.

Matthew Allen went 1-2 with his only win on the day being in a 3:37 pin against Galway’s Max Sicard.

Noah Shack also went 1-2 in the 215 weight class with his only win by 1:30 pin against Lansingburgh’s Gabriel Canelli.

Kolden Downey lost both matches at 157 pounds as Malakai Hagenbuch lost both at 165 and Konner Philbrook went 0-2 at 175 pounds.
