Local Indoor Track Teams Begin New Year At Quinney Invitational

ITHACA—On Saturday, local indoor track and field teams traveled to Cornell University in Ithaca to compete in the Quinney Invitational.Each team was separated in their own respective league.

Norwich girls finished 13th out of 14th in the STAC girls while the boys finished ninth.

The BGAH girls took home the victory in the IAC-MAC-DEL-TRI with UV in third and Oxford-Greene tied for 13th.

The BGAH boys also won the IAC-MAC-DEL-TRI with Oxford-Greene in third and UV in 20th of 21st.

The BGAH girls earned 104 total points to win the meet. A team of Madi Beardslee, Macey LaFever, Sophia Suda, and Jenna Wilson took third in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 13:20.12.

Brenna George, Kathleen Charette, Emma Snow, and Alessandra Cafasso took fifth in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 2:07.01.

Maddie Ingham, Laila Williams, Isabel Suda, and Tabitha Charette took second in the 4x400 meter relay, behind UV, with a time of 4:48.56.

Madisyn Larsen earned a top 10 finish in the 300 meter dash with a time of 48.61 seconds with Laila Williams in 12th with a time of 49.52 seconds.

Lucia Hall finished 19th (52.67 seconds) with Kathleen Charette in 20th (53 seconds).

Macey LaFever took fifth in the 3000 meter run with a time of 13:57.18.

Ingham won the 1000 meter run for the BGAH girls as she ran the fastest time of 3:19.63 as teammate Jenna Wilson finished 10th with a time of 3:54.31.

Isabel Suda took third in the 1500 meter race walk with a time of 9:26.18 with Tabitha Charette behind her in fourth with a time of 9:33.33.

Ingham took second in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:47.06, behind the leader's 1:45.94.

Madisyn Larsen followed in third with a time of 1:50.81 with Beardslee in 14th (2:15.18), and Suda in 19th (2:19.46).

Girls' Field:

Appalonia Bushaw led the BGAH girls in the high jump, clearing four feet, 11 inches for first place as Laila Williams and Isabel Suda both cleared four feet for eighth and ninth place.

Madisyn Larsen came in fourth place in the triple jump with a jump of 28 feet, 11 and 3/4 inches with Elanor Sprow in ninth place (24-7.25).

Bushaw also won the long jump with a jump of 17 feet, 10 and 3/4 inches as Kathleen Charette took third with a jump of 14-2.50 as Sprow tied for ninth (12-3.75).

Tori Suda had the best throw in the weight throw with a throw of 33 feet, one inch for first place.

Marissa Mayo took second in the shot put with a throw of 30 feet, nine inches behind the leader's 37-10. Suda finished fourth with a throw of 30 feet, five inches with Abbagayle Fitzgerald in eighth place (25-11.25).

Boys' Track:

The BGAH boys won the meet with 71 points. Ethan Beardslee, Jackari Garipoli, Sean Fowler, and Owen Degan won the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 9:33.01.

Camren Cuozzo, Rj Dalmida, Theo Loya, and Mason Lans finished eighth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:33.74.

Harpo Hardt took third in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.88 seconds.

Hardt also competed in the 300 meter dash, where he finished third with a time of 38.60 seconds with Davis Barnard in 25th with a time of 49.53 seconds.

Owen Degan took second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:20.95, behind leader's 9:32.03. Rowan Beasinger took fifth with a time of 11:56.81.

Sean Fowler and Ethan Beardslee led the Bears in the 1000 meter run with Fowler in fourth with a time of 2:51.58 as Beardslee followed in fifth with a time of 2:56.75.

Jackari Garipoli came in eighth in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:36.53 as Mason Lans finished 17th with a time of 1:55.81.

Owen Degan took third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:48.65 with Fowler in fifth with a time of 5:10.06 and Beasinger in 15th (5:32.20).

Boys' Field:

Harpo Hardt took second in the triple jump with a jump of 42 feet, six and 3/4 inches, behind leader's 43-6.50, as teammate Rj Dalmida finished 19th in the boys' high jump, clearing four feet, nine inches.

Jackari Garipoli and Ethan Beardslee both competed in the long jump, where Garipoli finished eighth with a jump of 17 feet, two and a half inches as Beardslee came in 11th (16-5.75).

Matthew Wombacker tied for third in the pole valut with a mark of eight feet.

Ryan Larsen and Cj Closs both threw in the boys' weight throw. Larsen took third with a throw of 37 feet and 3/4 inches and Closs picked up a point in sixth with a throw of 29 feet, six and a quarter inches.

Larsen came in fourth in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet, six inches as Closs finished 13th with a throw of 32 feet, five and 3/4 inches.

The Storm girls took third in the meet with a total of 51 points. UV won the 4x800 meter relay with a team of Madison Dix, Molly Gorrell, Natalya Schrag, and Margaret Kemnah with a time of 11:13.09.

Dix, Gorrell, Kemnah, and Noelle Fernandez-Naughton also won the 4x400 meter relay with the fastest time of 4:38.80.

The girls' 4x55 shuttle hurdle relay team took second with a team of Mia Schmidt, Delilah Wank, Alex Broodie, and Gianna Soprano with a time of 46.53 seconds.

Cheyenne McMahon came in 11th place in the 300 meter dash with a time of 49.21 seconds.

Kemnah took third in the 3000 meter run with a time of 13:04.06.

Natalya Schrag took second in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:28.39 with Fernandez-Naughton in fifth with a time of 3:36.85.

Marasynn Bates finished fifth in the 1500 meter race walk with a time of 10:42.26.

Madison Dix and Molly Gorrell both finished in the top six, earning at least one point. Dix came in fourth with a time of 1:52.78 as Gorrell finished sixth with a time of 1:54.47.

Andrea Favinger took third in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:52.24.

Girls' Field:

Noelle Fernandez-Naughton took fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 28 feet, 11 inches.

Madison Anderson came in 23rd in the shot put with a throw of 18 feet, five and a quarter inches.

UV:

Boys' Track:

The Unadilla Valley Storm boys' indoor track team came in 20th with a total of five points.

A team of Donovan Ballard, Jake Favinger, Latham Retz, and Ben Kemnah finished fourth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:14.24.

Jake Favinger picked up a point as he finished sixth in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:00.24 with Aidan James in 11th (3:12.81).

Peyton Nelson finished 23rd in the 300 meter dash with a time of 47.97 seconds.

Favinger and Aidan James both ran the 600, where Favinger earned a 13th place finish with a time of 1:43.90 with James in 15th (1:46.33).

Boys' Field:

Peyton Nelson finished 15th in the long jump with a jump of 13 feet, one and a half inches.

Girls' Track:

The Oxford-Greene girls' indoor track team tied for 13th in the IAC-MAC-DEL-TRI league girls with 10 points.

Amani Amin, Ellie Beadle, Tallena Lupinetti, and Clara Leach finished eighth in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 2:17.56.

Amin sprinted in the 300 meter dash, where she finished 23rd with a time of 54.04 seconds.

Ellie Beadle finished 17th in the 1000 meter run with a time of 4:41.83. She also ran the 600 meters with a time of 2:31.70 and finished 24th.

Girls' Field:

Clara Leach won the girls' triple jump with a jump of 31 feet, 11 inches.

Amani Amin finished 14th in the long jump with a jump of nine feet, 10 inches.

O-G:

Boys' Track:

The Oxford-Greene boys' indoor track team took third behind BGAH and Lansing with 56 points.

Gordon Smith, Eddie Golden, Liam Philippone, and Keegan Waltz earned the victory in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:52.67.

Dawson Viele, Paxton LaMonica, Eddie Golden, and Sherman Ludolph took third in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:47.59.

Keegan Waltz won the 300 meter dash with a time of 36.85 seconds with teammate Sherman Ludolph in 11th with a time of 42.30 seconds and Liam Philippone in 17th (44.21 seconds).

Sherman Ludolph and Liam Griffin both ran in the 600 meters, where Ludolph came in 10th with a time of 1:40.62 and Griffin in 16th with a time of 1:48.37.

Smith won the 1600 meter run with the fastest time of 4:33.74.

Boys' Field:

Keegan Waltz won the boys' high jump for Oxford-Greene as he cleared six feet, one inch.

Liam Philippone took fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 37 feet, eight and a quarter inches.

Isaac Utter took second in the IAC-MAC-DEL-TRI boys weight throw with a throw of 43 feet, eight and a half inches as Liam Griffin finished 10th with a throw of 20 feet, six and a quarter inches.

Utter finished eighth in the shot put with a throw of 34 feet, eight and a quarter inches.

NHS:

Girls' Track:

The Norwich Purple Tornado girls' indoor track team finished 13th with a total of 10 points.

Ava Cirigliano finished seventh in the 300 meter dash with a time of 45.60 seconds.

McKenzie Hagenbuch, Malea Sutton, and Laci Zieno all ran the 1000 meters, where Hagenbuch finished 13th with a time of 3:32.55, Sutton in 19th (4:00.92), and Zieno in 28th (5:08.42).

Sutton also ran the 1500 meters, where she finished 18th with a time of 6:42.68.

Girls' Field:

Norwich's Reagan Decker picked up a point in the girls' high jump, clearing four feet, five inches.

Decker finished 12th in the triple jump with a jump of 29 feet, nine and 3/4 inches. Decker finished the trifecta with a ninth place finish in the long jump with a jump of 14 feet, 10 and 3/4 inches.

Natalie Phillips took fifth in the pole vault with a mark of six feet, six inches.

Olivia Palmer earned a fourth place finish in the weight throw with a throw of 26 feet, 10 inches.

Phillips came in ninth place in the shot put with a throw of 25 feet, one and a half inches as Samantha Palmer finished 24th with a throw of 17-0.25.

Boys' Track:

The Purple Tornado boys' indoor track team came in ninth with 13 points in the STAC.

Nic Sutton earned a top 10 finish with a time of 10:51.11 in the boys' 3200 meter run as Cameron Carnachan finished 17th in the boys' 300 meter dash with a time of 41.87 seconds.

Sutton also took fifth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:58.56.

Boys' Field:

Connor Marshall cleared five feet, five inches in the boys' high jump for the Purple Tornado for sixth place.

Marshall also jumped in the long jump, where he finished 15th with a jump of 17 feet, six inches.

Kaden Downey led the Norwich boys with a top finish in the weight throw with a throw of 61 feet, five and a half inches
