ONEONTA — The Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville and Unatego/Franklin/Unadilla Valley Wrestling programs traveled to Oneonta High School for the 2025-26 Ross Cordell Rotary Tournament on Friday. U/F/UV finished fifth as BGAH finished 12th of 14 teams. Carthage won the meet overall.

All five of the Spartans wrestlers placed with three first place finishers, a second place finisher, and a fifth place finisher.

Sava Gonopolskiy, Gavin Nordberg, and Yanni Drapaniotis all won their respective weight classes for the Spartans. Drapaniotis won all three matches in the 190 weight class with all three pins, including a quick :34 pin over Burnt Hills’ David Barclay.

Gonopolskiy won all three matches at 103 pounds with two pins and a sudden victory 9-6 decision in the finals. Nordberg won the 132 class with two tech fall victories and a 1:05 pin.

Nolan Boyles took second in the 215 weight class with a 7-4 loss in the finals and had won two matches with one by pin and the other by a 8-0 major decision.

Caleb Wildenstein took fifth in the 175 weight class with two wins and two losses. His two wins were by decisions.

BGAH had three of five wrestlers place with Silas Greenman in second at 157 pounds. Greenman won his first two matches by tech fall and a pin before falling in the finals by pin.

Caleb Larsen and Mason Buchanan both took fifth in their respective weight classes. Buchanan saw the most matches and went 4-2 with a win by forfeit, win by decision, major decision, by tech fall, and a win by pin.

Larsen went 2-2 in the 215 weight class with two pins against Oneonta’s Mason Hannon.

Gabe Cutting also went 2-2 with two pins, but did not place in the 118 weight class. Frank Parsons went 0-2 at 126.
