BAINBRIDGE — The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls’ basketball team hosted Walton/Downsville for the 2025-26 home opener. The Bobcats stayed undefeated with a 56-36 victory. The B-G JV girls also remain unbeaten with a 59-39 victory.

Both teams went back-and-forth in the first half with several ties and lead changes. B-G tied the game at 20 with a minute until halftime and then was ahead 22-20 at the break.

After the slow start, B-G pulled away in the second half, scoring 22 points in the second quarter. Emma Kinter had 10 points in the second quarter, including making four-of-five free-throws.

Despite Walton/Downsville trying to come back late, B-G continued to stay consistent offensively and play a strong defense.

Walton/Downsville’s Grace Walley, who scored 17 points, had a strong first half, where she drove inside the paint and B-G, for a while, could not contain her. However, Tori Suda guarded her strongly in the second half, where she was limited.

Kinter led the Bobcats with 16 points and 13 rebounds to post a double-double. Jayslin Henderson had 14 points, nine rebounds, and five steals. Marissa Mayo also posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds and added five steals as well.

B-G also went 10-for-15 at the free-throw line with Patten and Mayo being perfect and Kinter just missing one attempt.

B-G (6-0) hosts their Kazalski tournament on December 29 and 30, featuring Windsor, Harpursville, and Spencer-Van Etten.
