NORWICH — The Norwich Purple Tornado boys’ basketball team is on a roll as they remain unbeaten on the 2025-26 season after a 67-50 win over Chenango Valley. Both teams played a highly intense game, where Chenango Valley got close, but Norwich regained control to secure the victory.

Norwich saw great pressure on defense by Carter and Cooper Chrystie while Aiden Young crushed three’s and Kassen Stubb drove to the basket to power the offense.

Young had 11 points in the first quarter, including three three-pointers and had a total of 14 points in the first half while Stubb had 11 points at the break.

The Purple Tornado were also 14-for-23 at the free-throw line with Young going a perfect five-for-five and Stubb two-for-two. Cooper Chrystie made five-of-nine free-throws, most coming in the final eight minutes.

Young led Norwich with 24 points overall as Stubb finished with 17. Cooper Chrystie ended his night with 15 points as Carmine Pastore added nine points.

Brevin Bennett had a basket at the end of the second quarter in the win.

Norwich (6-0) heads to Sidney tonight at 7:15 p.m.
