S-E Indoor Track Competes At Art McKinnon Meet

UTICA— The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves indoor track team track traveled to Utica University to compete in the Art McKinnon meet on Thursday evening. The S-E boys tied for seventh with Mount Markham with 22 points as the girls tied with Mount Markham in 11th place with nine points.

Boys:

Track:

S-E’s Victor Smith took second with a time of 7.09 seconds in the 55 meter dash, behind the leader’s 6.84 seconds. Teammate Jacob Sulton finished 10th with a time of 7.45 seconds as Thomas Osborne came in 26th out of 30th with a time of 8.24 seconds.

Smith also ran the 600 meters event, where he came in fourth with a time of 1:33.26. Noah Lamandia finished 20th in the same event with a time of 1:46.63.

Brett Lewis and Aaron Romanowski both ran the 1600 meters, where Lewis finished 14th with a time of 5:33.99 and Romanowksi in 16th (5:41.77).

Sulton took fifth in the 300 meter dash, earning four points, with a time of 39.66 seconds as Braden Lewis finished 12th with a time of 41.41 seconds and Osborne in 27th (52.06 seconds).

Field:

Jacob Sulton also led S-E in the long jump with a 10th place finish, with a jump of 15 feet, 10 inches.

Braden Lewis achieved a fourth place finish in the weight throw with a throw of 41 feet, one and a quarter inches. Liam Acly and Blake Smith also competed in the same event, where Acly came in 10th with a throw of 34 feet, six inches and Smith finished 11th (32-9.50).

Braden Lewis earned a top 10 finish in the shot put with a throw of 32 feet, two and 3/4 inches with Blake Smith in 19th place with a throw of 289 feet, six inches. Osborne finished 28th in the shot put with a throw of 22-1.75;.

Girls:

Track:

S-E’s Lydia Brown, Samantha Garrison, Hannah Barth, and Viola Russett took fifth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 5:29.24. Barth and Brown also competed in the 55 meter dash with Barth in 22nd with a time of 9.29 seconds and Brown behind her in 23rd with a time of 9.32 seconds.

In the 600 meter run, Samantha Garrison finished 13th with a time of 2:08.82 while eighth grader Isabel MaGrath came in 11th place in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:53.35.

Russett and Layla Young both competed in the 300 meter dash. Russett picked up a 28th place finish with a time of 56.14 seconds with Young in 30th (1:04.47).

Field:

Junior Avery Solloway competed in multiple fielding events for the Lady Timberwolves. She earned a fourth place finish in the long jump with a jump of 13 feet, six and a half inches.

Rose Rivenburg jumped 10 feet, seven and a quarter inches for 13th place in the same event.

Marlie Thompson came in eighth place in the triple jump with a jump of 28 feet, three and a quarter inches.

Avery Solloway picked up one point with an eighth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 24 feet and a half inches.Teammate Layla Young threw 13 feet, one and a half inches for 19th place.
